This is a walk on Earth or in some other parallel universe. The main character, who appears in all the paintings or whose presence is suggested by pieces of textiles, crosses different symbolic moments of life, representing the ephemeral and at the same time a transfer in space.

AD SIDERA PER ATHANASIUS KIRCHER
Athanasius Kircher (1602-1680), considered the ultimate universal erudite, was a Jesuit who created in 1651 a famous museum of the world in the Collegio Romano, in Rome. He had a great influence upon the French surrealists. This phase was developed as a kind of tribute to this incredibly inventive and inspirational figure, and presented in the same place where Kircher had his museum.

SECRET GARDEN
We all have a “secret garden” where we create a dreamlike world where our inner reality takes shape based in irrational, emotional, or psychological tensions. For expressing part of mine, I used multiplied and split up images as in a game of mirrors reflecting infinite facets of a unique creature.

CANGACEIROS
The “Cangaceiros” were groups of bandits, roaming Brazil’s northeast in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The most famous cangaceiros were Lampião and his band, who became part of popular myth in the Brazilian imaginary as a mixture of heroes and bandits. This series was the object of two main solo exhibitions: at the Museu Nacional de Belas Artes , Rio de Janeiro, and the Museu de arte contemporanea MAC-USP, São Paulo.

SURROUNDINGS
This phase results from my desire to represent together images that did not necessarily belong to the same temporal space or context. It develops around two main elements: a mask and a doll, which I sometimes combine and use in different situations, together with citations from works of the past.
